What’s the most important thing in your life?
Is it your relationships, your children, your friends, your husband, your wife?
Is it the small things, the sunsets, the birds chirping, the gentle breeze on a beautiful day?
Is it your work or your health?
Is it your food or your religion?
Is it being of service to others or the future?
They all are important, as are millions of other things. But they’re not the most important thing in your life.
So. What’s the most important thing in your life?
Your breath. Without it you die.
You can go without many “important things” for months or years. You can go without food for weeks. You can go without water for days. But you have to breathe, you have to fill your lungs with oxygen, or you die in minutes.
It’s that simple. And it’s that powerful…
Yet when was the last time you consciously thought about using your breath? When you were trying to catch it after a strenuous exercise or walking up a flight of stairs?
Why do we forget to breath? Is it so natural and such a small step that we miss its power?
Your breath gives you life. It brings oxygen to all parts of your body to power your movements, feelings and thinking. And if you acknowledge that, and use it, your breath can bring even more to your life.
Breathe when you want to relieve stress. Breathe when you want focus. Breathe when you want more energy. Breathe to appreciate the moments.
Take a moment now…
Take a deep breath and feel the air in your lungs. Then exhale and feel the release. I bet you feel more relaxed and it may even make you smile. Do it again, and do it anytime you want to use a free, personal tool to bring more health to your life. (I live in LA and somedays are better than others for a big breath
)
Here we just scratch the surface of the importance of breath. There is much more…
There are many techniques for breathing that can be used to improve your life. Find them on-line, learn them from others and we’ll talk about them more here. But most of all, remember your breath is the most important thing in your life – and use it.
How have you used breathing in your life?
What has breathing brought to you?
Please share your stories and spread the word.
You can use breathing to improve your life – one inhale, one exhale – one breath at a time.
Have Funandbreathe,
Jim
