My, What A Big Steps Family You Have!

How the hell are small steps enough to control and power your personal change?

While there are many answers to that question, please consider that small steps are not just small, they are in reality a big family of steps…

And like every family, they have different personalities, perspectives and capabilities.  There are favorite aunts, cool and crazy uncles, in-laws that make life easier or harder, and cousins galore that are available to help and play.

Just imagine they all have your back and offer different ways to make your steps work. It’s like having a picnic where every family member has a specialty to bring to the table.

Here are nine family members that will help…

  1. The Positioning Step – The base that indicates what level you’re on, what doorstep, gradation, notch, rest, round, run, rung, or tread.
  2. The Vision Step – The guide to direct your movement by thinking out, targeting, blocking, blueprint, crafting, design, drafting, formulating, framing, mapping, plotting and sketching.
  3. The Advancing Step – The building blocks of movement. These are your day-in day-out ways to advance, ambulate, ascend, dance, descend, go backward, go down, go forward, or go up.
  4. The Gait Step – The style you choose for your steps and walk. These include your amble, bearing, carriage, clip, get along, lick, march, motion, movement, pace, run, speed, and stride.
  5. The Gallop Step -  The picking up of movement in position or time, to bolt, race, pull out front, get to the forefront, or challenge for the lead.
  6. The Hop Step – To jump on one leg and move up and down, trying to balance, bounce, bound, caper, hurdle, lop, lope, skip, skitter and spring.
  7. The Jump Step – To bob, buck, canter, dive, drop, fall, gambol, hurdle, jar, jerk, jolt, leapfrog, lurch, nosedive, plummet, plunge, pounce, and upsurge.
  8. The Spurt Step– To increase the advantage and ascend, augment, boost, handicap, increment, inflate, rise, spurt, and get the upper hand.
  9. The Leap Step – The catapult of building, bunching and faith that propels your steps to new levels. You jump over, arise, ascend, cavort, clear, escalate, hurdle, mount, rise, rocket, and soar.

Your family of steps is ready and willing to help, and can be there when you need them.

So which of these family members do you want a better relationship with?

Who are you most comfortable with?

Which family members are waiting for you to make the first step?

You’ll find you have a relationship with all of them, to add power and control to your life. Just seek them out – one step at a time.

Have fun with the family,

Jim
